I get knocked down but I get up again!

What can I say? We havehave had an absolutely amazing run, it has been incredible as well as exhausting but I can’t stop smiling. There has been some big breeze in the past 24 hours and we have been changing our sails regularly to get the best possible out of Superbigou. We had our first complete wipe-out last night, the autopilot got taken out by the wave and we lay on our side for quite a while, I was on top of the boat sitting down, Ys was down below, about 5m underneath me, and I was thinking that’s quite a long way down, but we managed to get it sorted.

We kept the spinnaker up for as long as we could last night but when the moon left, we were doing 21-22kt in the dark, hand steering one hour on, one hour off, and we eventually came to the decision to drop it until the morning.  This morning we put up the spinnaker again and it has just been amazing, we have really enjoyed our day, pushing the boat and growing in confidence all the time. The boat feels fantastic, really loving it and we’re making some significant miles.

We hope to pass through the Cape Verdes tonight and then will be looking at our positioning for the doldrums next.

I can’t believe we are still out here in the TJV, we are really beginning to gel as a team and every day has been fantastic.
