Last week, Poole Harbour Commissioners hosted a reception at Poole Quay Boat Haven to welcome Medallia home. The boat will be based in Poole for the next three years in the lead up to the 2024 Vendée Globe.

Pip said: “When I started my Vendée Globe journey in 2019, I had a really clear vision for what I wanted it to be. That was about all. I started it with a bank loan, found a fairly tired boat and the next stage was to find a home.

When Poole Harbour Commissioners gave me a home in this marina they allowed me to build a community around my Vendée Globe project, and it was that community of local businesses, volunteers, friends and strangers who got me through to the start line and allowed all of us to put on the incredible performance in the race.

I feel so lucky, and so well supported. I’m really excited for what the next three years looks like, building the community here and sharing more adventures with you in the future. This is just the start.’
